New York City Bucket List

New York City is such a vibrant and exciting city, with so many possibilities and cool things to experience and see. But when you’re traveling to the city, it can be difficult to narrow down and choose the actual things you want to do most. This list is a great place to start- with iconic places and a different variety of options!

Metropolitan Museum of Art– One of the most iconic museums in the world, this museum is a must-visit location. You can dedicate several hours, or choose a few areas you most want to see. No matter what, you will not regret visiting this museum. The exterior architecture alone will leave you in awe!

Rockefeller Plaza– The entire area around Rockefeller Plaza is brimming with cool things to do, including NBC studios and a variety of stores.

Shopping in SOHO– SOHO is the best area of the city to do shopping, or even just window-shopping!

Katz’s Delicatessen– Having been featured in many films, this restaurant is a must-visit. The food is also delicious!

Grand Central Terminal– You’ll marvel at the iconic and awe-inspiring architecture of this building, and will get many beautiful pictures!

Eat a NYC bagel– Bagels are some of the most famous NYC food options, and you can get them on almost every street! Check out Russ & Daughters or Between the Bagel.

The High Line– This is a beautiful public park with great views. You can also check out Chelsea Market close by.

Yankees game– For something a little different, go to a Yankees game one evening. They are a renowned team with very dedicated fans, so the atmosphere of the game is so fun, even if you’re not a baseball fan.

Strand Bookstore– A famous used bookstore in the city- you never know what treasure you might find!

Edge– There are several skyscrapers to choose from, but this one is a truly unique experience, with a viewing area that jets out of the building and a glass floor.

The Frick Collection– A beautiful art collection in an incredible home close to 5th Avenue.

Eat New York style pizza– Pizza is another staple of New York City cuisine, and there are so many great options. Try eating at the first pizzeria in the city- Lombardi’s.

Broadway show– Seeing a broadway show is a wonderful way to spend an evening, and an opportunity to get a little dressed-up. It’s also a chance to see a famous actor or performer on stage!

MOMA– The Museum of Modern Art houses some of the most well-known paintings in the world, including Van Gogh’s The Starry Night.

Picnic in Central Park– Spending time in the tranquil Central Park is a nice respite from the bustling city. Grab some food from Pret A Manger and have a picnic in the park.
